The short answer
Yes, CoolForce AC Repair serves East Palo Alto with AC, furnace, and heat pump repair, installation, and maintenance. We can also explain how current Bay Area Air District rules and available incentives may affect a furnace or heat pump decision.
CoolForce AC Repair works on heating and cooling systems for homeowners in East Palo Alto, about 20 miles northwest of our San Jose base in San Mateo County. We repair and install air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits. We also handle routine maintenance, duct cleaning, and indoor air quality work. Whether your system quit on a warm afternoon or you're weighing a replacement before your furnace gives out, we'll explain what we find in plain terms and lay out your options so you can decide what makes sense for your home and budget.
Heating and Cooling Needs in a Bayside City
East Palo Alto sits close to the Bay at the northern end of the Santa Clara Valley region. The area has a Mediterranean climate with dry summers and mild, damp winters. Summers here are usually milder than in the inland and southern parts of the valley, which run noticeably hotter. That doesn't mean air conditioning goes unused. Warm stretches still happen, and many homes rely on cooling during those periods. Systems that sit idle for months often show their problems the first time they're asked to run hard.
Winters bring cool, damp air rather than deep cold. Heating demand is moderate, but furnaces and heat pumps still run regularly through the cooler months. Damp conditions can also affect indoor comfort and air quality. Moisture, dust, and stale air tend to build up in closed-up homes, so ventilation and filtration matter as much as the heating equipment itself.
Services We Offer in East Palo Alto
We handle both repairs and new equipment. If something stops working, we start by diagnosing the actual cause instead of guessing. If you're replacing equipment, we look at your home's layout, existing ductwork, and how you use each room before recommending a system.

Replacing a Furnace? What the Air District Rules Mean
East Palo Alto is within the Bay Area Air District, which has adopted rules for gas appliances. Under Rule 9-4, natural gas furnaces manufactured from 2029 must meet a zero-NOx emission standard. In practice, that points homeowners toward heat pumps when they replace a furnace after that date. The rules do not require you to replace working equipment. They apply only when an existing furnace or water heater fails or is replaced.
Water heaters follow a separate rule. The zero-NOx date for small water heaters under Rule 9-6 was set for 2027, but the Air District Board is considering amendments in November 2026 that could delay it. If a water heater replacement is on your list, check the current rule before you plan.
On incentives, the federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (25C) covered qualifying heat pumps placed in service before December 31, 2025. It is not available for new installations after that date. Bay Area homeowners can still check BayREN and their local clean energy provider for current heat pump and electrification incentives. Amounts and availability change by funding cycle, so we confirm the current offer before including it in a quote.
Maintenance, Ducts, and Indoor Air
Regular maintenance helps catch worn parts, dirty coils, and airflow problems before they turn into breakdowns. Our visits cover both heating and cooling. Plan on a check before the cooler months and another before warm weather arrives. If certain rooms stay stuffy, dust builds up quickly, or the air feels stale, the ductwork may need cleaning or sealing. Better filtration or ventilation can also help. We'll tell you what we see and what is worth doing, and we'll point out what can wait.
